It’s been 8 days since my last post. There’s been a few reason’s why I haven’t been posting lately:
- I was accepted to Luther Seminary and have been working on doing some of the things I have to do to get ready for that. It’s amazing the amount of software they want you to have on your computer.
- Our local area has just been approached by an oil and natural gas company to lease the mineral rights to our land. There was a community meeting Thursday night, and since then I’ve been trying to talk to as many neighbors as possible to get them to not sign the lease yet. Most people have no idea what they are signing. I’ve also been doing some research to try and figure out if we even have the authority to drawn royalties from the mineral rights to our land. It looks like there is a strong possibility most of us don’t own the mineral rights to our land.
- This Sunday is our monthly youth-led worship service. No matter how much prep work I do ahead of time, there is always lots of work the week of the service.
- Even though I am very happy with the results of my implementation of GTD, I have been pretty swamped trying to wade through the minutiae that had accumulated in the past 15 months of working at Hope.
I have started writing the next blog post, it’s just not finished, yet.
i’m so happy for you getting into the school man. that is great. looking forward to some of your upcoming thoughts as well. i have several things i’m writing on right now as well…david the pastor offically left today…i’m really bummed man…i didn’t think i was going to be…but i’m really down and out right now
How will he know that I’m doing it? Do I need to let him know, or is he that awesome that he’ll just know.
Oh, well I should have followed that link before I made a sarcastically ridiculous comment on your page. Sorry.
I also apologize for not using sperkins as my name. You’ll have to talk to my husband about that one.
Look look! I am on Marko’s blog! Who’s awesome now??? That’s what I thought.
Matt, your comment about the convention needing to change for youth ministry to change…that has been my overarching thought this whole time. I’m still working on how to say that, but you got it exactly. And thank you for sticking up for me!
Just so you know, you can download all the seminars on an mp3 and its cheaper than the cds. Maybe you already knew that, you do know quite alot.
oh, that’s sadie above. not rusty.
this is actually rusty… you should know that tony thought his seminar on theological tools for youth ministry bombed. Though, the people in the last night theology with him didn’t think so. I thought it was helpful, though maybe not revolutionary.
Matt, I’m pretty psyched about your call to Luther Seminary. I also just posted a comment on your switch-n-bait blog thing. You are such a gift. I wish you were a Presbyterian! Just kidding—not really. Keep blogging. You are one of two thinking blogs I actually find worthwhile. The other two are full of pictures of my grandkids and their parents. Keep it up. Dr. C.
