BlueHost.com Offering $3.95 a Month Web Hosting

Last Updated March 19, 2009 by Matt Leave a Comment

If you’ve been following the series I’ve been doing on how to create a church website at minimal cost, you have noticed that I recommend BlueHost.com for the needs of most churches. Well, I’m not sure how long ago this changed or how long it will last, but right now BlueHost.com is offering web hosting for $3.95 a month, which is a pretty killer deal. You can get your own self-hosted website (free domain name, I think, included if you don’t have one) for three years for only $142.20. Go back and read this post and learn why I think BlueHost.com is a good option for churches.

Also, an advantage for people new to self-hosting their own website is BlueHost’s cancelation policy. If you cancel within 30 days you get all of your money back. So if you sign up and think that you are in over your head, you can get out without losing anything (email me before you do though, I might be able to give you some advice). Even better is that after the first 30 days, if you cancel they will give you a prorated refund on the remainder of your term. Most places make you pay for three years up front so that if you cancel they can still keep the money. Not with BlueHost. You can take the killer $3.95 a month deal for three years, cancel 18 months into it, and still get half of your money back. That’s a sweet deal. You can go to this link to verify my information. They are pretty confident you will like their service, and I am, too.

There’s really nothing to lose to just try it out. Here’s a bright shiny banner for you to click on if you are enticed:

The next post in the series will be posted tomorrow.

Best Youth Ministry Books: Youth Ministry 3.0 by Mark Ostreicher

Yesterday I finally read Youth Ministry 3.0 by Mark Ostreicher, and since I’m one of the latecomers to the conversation I won’t summarize the book too much. Marko has linked to tons of reviews on his blog if you are interested in more in-depth summaries. If you are fairly in-tune with a lot of the […]

Best Youth Ministry Books: Postmodern Youth Ministry

Postmodern Youth Ministry by Tony Jones is the book I would recommend to youth ministers if they could just read one youth ministry book. I first read the book in my Foundations and Practices of Youth Ministry class at John Brown University. After the preface to the book there is a page titled, “The Day […]
